NM 14 Tactical Analysis. Terrain & Access NM 14 spans rugged, multi-elevation terrain from 4,727 to nearly 10,000 feet, offering mixed high-country and lower-elevation habitat. However, only one-third of the unit is public land—a significant constraint for unguided hunters. The majority is private, requiring either advance access arrangements or reliance on outfitted opportunities. Terrain transitions from sagebrush and pinyon-juniper at lower elevations to mixed conifer forest at higher elevations.
