Nearly three-quarters of the unit sits on public land, offering solid access across the elevation gradient. However, 65% wilderness designation means much of the huntable country requires foot traffic and self-sufficiency — this is not a road-hunting unit. Expect steep drainages, thick timber at mid-elevations, and open ridge country above timberline. Hunters comfortable with backcountry movement and multi-day packs will find ample room to hunt.
