WY 13 – Encampment River: Tactical Analysis. Terrain & Access Unit 13 spans high country ranging from 7,133 to 10,957 feet across 194,260 acres of predominantly public land (75.3%). The elevation breadth supports diverse habitat from lower-country transition zones to alpine and subalpine terrain—typical of southern Wyoming's Medicine Bow and Sierra Madre ranges. With three-quarters of the unit in public ownership, physical access to hunting country is broadly available to unguided hunters.
