CO S22 – SAN LUIS PEAK. Terrain & Access San Luis Peak spans 8,692–13,992 feet across nearly 280,000 acres of high alpine and subalpine terrain in south-central Colorado. Nearly all land (98%) is public, concentrated on national forest and Bureau of Land Management holdings. Wilderness comprises 37% of the unit—significant terrain that requires careful route planning but remains accessible to unguided hunters willing to navigate backcountry.
