NM 13 — Terrain & Access NM 13 spans 2.8 million acres across a steep elevation gradient from 4,591 to 9,445 feet, offering diverse terrain from lower grassland and shrubland to high-country conifer. Nearly 70% public land provides solid access via national forest and state holdings, though terrain becomes more technical at higher elevations. The unit straddles the transition between the flat antelope grasslands visible along Highway 60 (between Datil and Magdalena) and the forested plateau country to the north.
