UT Mule Deer Unit West Hills

UT West Hills – Tactical Analysis Hunt Character UT West Hills is a high-accessibility unit close to the Wasatch Front population centers (Salt Lake and Utah valleys). The unit supports a solid deer herd bolstered by recent mild winters, and recent surveys show improving buck-to-doe ratios. Access is plentiful across much of the unit, making it practical for hunters based in the region. A key tactical consideration: the northern half of the unit (Salt Lake Valley side) is limited-entry only, while the southern half remains open to regular draws. This split means tag availability and hunt pressure differ significantly..
