Privacy Policy

HuntPilot (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects information to provide and improve our western big game hunt research platform. We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password. Passwords are managed securely through our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never stored in plaintext.

Profile & Preferences: You may optionally provide hunting preferences such as your home state, target species, preferred weapon types, experience level, priority points, and states of interest. This information is used to personalize your experience.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, searches performed, AI questions asked, and features used. This data helps us improve the platform.

Device & Session Information: We collect device identifiers, browser type, and session information to enforce concurrent session limits and prevent unauthorized account sharing.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Personalize AI-generated recommendations, unit analyses, and strategy suggestions based on your hunting profile
• Process subscription payments and manage your account
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, subscription receipts, support ticket updates)
• Enforce session limits and protect against unauthorized access
• Evaluate and improve AI response quality through automated review processes
• Generate aggregated, anonymized analytics to improve the platform

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We use third-party services to operate the platform. These providers only access your data as necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies:

• Authentication and user management
• Payment processing (see Section 4)
• AI-powered hunt analysis and recommendations
• Email delivery for transactional notifications

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

HuntPilot uses AI services to generate hunting research insights, unit analyses, and strategy recommendations. When you interact with our AI features:

• Your questions and conversation history are sent to third-party AI providers for response generation
• Your hunting profile (home state, species preferences, point levels) may be included in AI prompts to personalize responses
• AI conversations are stored in our database to maintain session continuity and enable conversation history
• AI responses may be evaluated by automated quality scoring systems to improve response accuracy

We do not use your personal conversations to train AI models. Our AI providers process data according to their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

HuntPilot uses minimal cookies and local storage for essential functionality:

• Authentication tokens — to keep you signed in across sessions
• Session identifiers — a locally generated UUID used for concurrent session management
• AI chat state — temporary session storage to preserve advisor chat context during navigation

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell tracking data.

We retain your account information and preferences for as long as your account is active. AI conversation history is retained to support ongoing research continuity.

Cached AI responses (unit summaries, search results) are stored temporarily and expire automatically (24 hours to 7 days depending on content type).

When you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our systems, including your user record, preferences, AI conversations, and session data. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all connections
• Secure password hashing via Supabase Auth (bcrypt)
• JWT-based authentication with server-side validation
• Concurrent session limiting to detect unauthorized access
• Rate limiting on sensitive endpoints to prevent abuse

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information through your profile and preferences pages
• Update your account information and hunting preferences at any time
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting support
• Cancel your subscription at any time through your profile settings
• Export your data by requesting it through our support system

HuntPilot is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
